Remove the original drive running High SierraĨ.) Upon the USB Install of High Sierra, it is now recognized as a Volume for install!!ĩ.) Once High Sierra is installed on the MX300, one can then insert the original drive in the caddy and format it Macbook Pro's startup utility.ġ0.) Restart, and presto, everything is a go! So, without further a-do.ġ.) The High Sierra USB install flash drive is practical.ģ.) One does not need to worry about File Utility in initial startup.Ħ.) Remove the MX300 from the Caddy (or I guess those using External enclosures being the same.)ħ.) Only the MX300 should be in the main Drive Bay for the MacBook Pro. ![]() Here's what I did, and in trying my method, I strongly believe any SSD will work. Actually, I thought I had replied to my own thread before in finding the solution.
